Choosing a sofa with a chaise
Which side should the chaise be on?
Stand where you will see the sofa from, usually the doorway or TV, and picture where you want to stretch out. Keep the chaise away from the main path into the room. Some designs have a reversible chaise that can be moved to either side; each listing says which it is. Our guide on how to choose a sectional explains left- and right-facing pieces.
Allow for its length
A chaise is usually 60–70" long, well past the seat depth of the sofa, so tape it out on the floor before you order.
