What is a cloud couch?

A cloud couch is a style, not a brand: a low, deep-seated sofa with wide, squared arms and thick, soft cushions that give it a relaxed, cloud-like look. Many are modular, so the seats can be rearranged into a sofa, an L-shape or a U-shape.

What to check before you buy

Seat depth. Deep seats are made for lounging; if you prefer to sit upright, plan on back pillows. Our guide to cushion firmness and fill explains the difference.

Size. Cloud sectionals are big, some well over 10 feet wide. Before you order, measure your room and every doorway, hallway and stair on the way in. Our guide to measuring for a sofa shows how, and the sofa finder checks the fit for you.

Fabric. Choose soft chenille or textured corduroy, and check the cleaning code on each listing (see sofa care).

Delivery and returns

Every sofa ships to all 50 states for a flat $20 by curbside freight, and most orders arrive within 5–10 business days. If it is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to return it for free. See our shipping policy and returns policy.
